Rhode Island Food System Summit
Please join us as the table for the third annual Rhode Island Food System Summit. Add your voice with government, business, and community partners as we discuss the implementation of the Rhode Island Food Strategy and how we can support the food sector and our state into the future.
Hosted by the University of Rhode Island, all attendees are invited to join us for field trips to organizations across the state, including Matunuck Oyster Farm; Hope & Main, in Warren, the state's first culinary incubator; Farm Fresh Rhode Island in Providence; Farming Turtles, an organic farm in Exeter; and Earth Care Farm, a family-run large-scale compost producer in Charlestown, among others, to learn more about our state’s food ecosystem. (Please note: All field trips are limited to a certain number of attendees based on space available; preregistration is required. If Savvy Chapter members want to travel together to one particular site, we can coordinate and even carpool together.)
More information on appropriate dress for various field trips as well as the summit, is available at: https://web.uri.edu/food-center/foodsummit-2019/
